The Whatcom Prevention Coalition supports youth efforts to provide prevention education and fun activities in schools located in Whatcom County. Squalicum Health Alliance
Squalicum High School
The Squalicum Health Alliance works to help students make healthy decisions in their lives when it comes to substance use. The Health Alliance has taken part in events that focus on distracted driving awareness, community service in Whatcom County, the dangers of alcohol to youth and the prevelance of smoking at the Lynden Fair.
MAD HOPE
Bellingham High School
The Make A Difference (MAD) groups in Bellingham High School work to help students understand social norms when it comes to drinking and other substance use and abuse. Keepin' it Real focuses on substance use and rates of use, while MAD-HOPE works to break down stigmas surrounding suicide. Both groups have worked to create a positive school environment, with students who care about one another and who are willing to help in times of need.

Shuksan Prevention Squad
Shuksan Middle School
The Shuksan Prevention Crew is a group working to prevent the use of drugs and alcohol among middle school students. In a school where substances were used quite often, students in this club have helped reduce the rate of substance use among their peers, and have created positive messages to empower students to choose to abstain from using substances.

Horizon Middle School
The Horizon Natural High Club is a group working to prevent the use of drugs and alcohol, and to raise awareness about bullying. Natural High is also about reaching your goals - in other words, achieving what you want, and obtaining your "natural high." You can reach your natural high by abstaining from drugs or alcohol, and that one simple thing can help you reach your goals. We love Horizon's Natural High Club!
Vista Natural High Club
Vista Middle School
The Vista Natural High Club is a group working to prevent the use of drugs and alcohol, and to raise awareness about bullying! S.O.C.K. Club
Lynden High School
The S.O.C.K. Club (Serving Our Community with Kindness) strives to make their community a better place to live. While the club has a strong empahsis on community service, they also work hard to promote drug and alcohol-free lifestyles among thier peers.
G3, AKA Grizzlies Gettin' Gritty, is a group working to prevent the use of drugs and alcohol at Fairhaven Middle School. In their first year they hosted a variety of events including Kick Butts Day, movie nights, and creating a strong social norming campaigh. They ended the year with a school-wide assembly about the dangers of drug and alcohol use for teens.
G3 is looking forward to another fun and productive year. They hope to implement the T.A.T.U. program at Fairhaven Middle School and even have plans for a field day.

The Kulshan Prevention Team at Kulshan Middle School is a new prevention club. We look forward to continuing collaboration with the students and advisors to create a fun, safe school environment.

Planned Parenthood
Teen Council is a peer education program that equips young people to be effective sexual health educators and social justice advocates in their community.
Windward High School
Youth at Windward High School have been working hard to promote positive social norming at their school. Their goal is to change the school climate and image of their school to one of pride, hard work, and oportunity.
